Holly Figg, MA ATR-P

Hello! I’m Holly Figg, an Art Therapist with over six years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I believe deeply in the healing power of the creative process and in art as a safe, nonjudgmental way to explore emotions, experiences, and personal meaning.

Art has been an important part of my own life journey, helping me process trauma, grief, and life transitions. Through both personal and professional experience, I have seen how creating art can provide release, clarity, and a sense of calm. My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect, and I view clients as the experts of their own stories. My role is to walk alongside them, helping them move forward when life feels overwhelming or stuck.

I am especially passionate about working with individuals impacted by grief and loss, medical trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, brain injury, autism, and ADHD. This work is deeply personal to me, as the loss of my daughter to childhood cancer shaped my path into art therapy and continues to inform my trauma-informed, empathetic approach.

Outside of therapy, I am a professional pour painter and enjoy spending time in my studio preparing for local art shows. I also love being outdoors, traveling, playing games, and spending quality time with my family. I believe creativity, connection, and play are essential at every stage of life and are powerful tools for healing and restoration.

“Your deepest emotional wound can become your greatest superpower—once healed”.

“Art therapy lives in both accretion and erosion: the gentle layering of meaning brushed into the sand, leaving a mark for others to see and carry with them; and the quiet release that erodes what no longer serves, clearing the path forward.

“Have courage—we are not meant to be perfect. Be genuine, be assertive, and listen with your whole self. Even the softest breezes have wisdom to share. I may not be a pioneer, but like those before me, I hope to leave pieces of insight and experience that others can gather and carry into their own practice.”
